4. Double-click the group to enter into it (view the group in Edit mode).
Even though the objects are grouped on the main Stage, you can still access the
individual components in Edit mode.
Because you drew these shapes in object-drawing mode, you can’t access the pixels of
the lines. You can’t select and delete parts of the lines with the Selection tool, which you
need to do.
The Edit bar shows
that you are working
inside the group.
In Edit mode, you can
access the individual
components of the group.
5. With all objects in the group selected, choose Modify>Break Apart.
After breaking apart the
drawing objects, you can use
the Selection tool to select
specific pixels, or segments
between anchor points.
6. Click away from the lines to deselect everything.
7. Click to select one of the overhanging lines between the outer and middle
circles, then press Delete/Backspace.
Remember from the earlier discussion on destructive editing that when you’re editing a
drawing object, Animate recognizes and separates overlapping elements.
8. Repeat Step 7 to remove all of the extraneous line segments.
9. In the Edit bar, click Scene 1 to return to the main Stage.
Because these objects started as a group, and you made all the edits inside the group, the
selection on the main Stage is still treated a single unit; the bounding box surrounds the
outer edge of all the objects in the group.
